What we collect
- Visits: our servers record your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser type. We use this to run and protect the site.
- Search: the words you type in the search box are used to suggest places. We do not link them to you.
- Messages: when you write to us by email or WhatsApp, we keep your message and contact details to answer you.
- Directory: if you create a free account or add a listing on the directory, we keep the details you enter, such as your name, email address, business details and photos.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and from which countries. It sets cookies for that purpose.
Why we use it
To run and secure the site and to understand how it is used (legitimate interest). To handle your account and listing and to answer your messages. To use optional cookies, only with your consent where the law requires it. And to meet legal obligations.
Who receives data
Our hosting, content delivery, security and email providers, and Google for analytics. We do not sell personal data.
Transfers outside your country
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area or your own country. Where the law requires it, this is covered by safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for a limited time. Messages are kept as long as needed to answer you. Directory accounts and listings are kept until you delete them or ask us to. Analytics data follows the settings of the provider.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, to correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to it or receive a copy. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country. Use the contact page.
Children
WEBZINEworld is not meant for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
